Privacy at Puppy Time

I collect the least I can, I do not sell anything about you, and I do not pass your information to anyone outside the people and tools listed on this page.

Who you are dealing with

What I collect

When you fill in the enquiry form

Your name, email, phone number, your pet's details and your dates. It comes to me by email. I use it to reply to you, to arrange a meet and greet, and to work out a care plan. If a field does not apply to you, leave it.

When you visit this site

Squarespace hosts the site and records standard analytics: which pages were viewed, roughly which region the visit came from, which browser was used. Google Analytics 4 records the same sort of thing, plus which pages lead people to get in touch.

Microsoft Clarity is the one I want to be plain about. It records anonymised session replays, meaning a playback of scrolling, mouse movement and clicks on a page. I use it to find out where the site confuses people. I do not use it to watch individuals, and I do not connect it to your name or your booking.

When you become a client

Your care plan, your pet's routine and any medical notes, your vet and emergency contacts, access arrangements for your home, and your invoices. Those live in my Google Drive. Only the people working on your booking see your access details.

What I do not do

I do not sell, rent or trade your information. I do not use it to advertise to you. I do not post photographs of your pet anywhere public without asking you first. I do not give your address or your access details to anyone who is not working on your booking.

Cookies

Squarespace sets the cookies the site needs to run, and the analytics tools above set their own. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings: about a year, then I delete them. Client and financial records: six years, because that is how long the Canada Revenue Agency expects business records to be kept. Analytics data follows each provider's own retention setting.

What you can ask me for

Email puppytimevancouver@gmail.com and you can ask to see what I hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or have it deleted. I will answer within 30 days. A record I have to keep for tax purposes is the one thing I may not be able to delete straight away, and I will tell you if that applies to you.

If you would rather Google Analytics did not measure your visit at all, Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on that blocks it on every site you visit.

Children

This is a pet care business. The site is not aimed at children and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Questions, or something you are not happy with

Email puppytimevancouver@gmail.com and tell me. If you are not satisfied with how I have handled your information, you can take it to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
